The Red Jacket Jamboree is an old-time radio variety show, sharing songs, stories and history of the copper country and beyond. Hosted by Lena Dorey and Martin Achatz, two-time Poet Laureate of the Upper Peninsula, the show features the acclaimed Copper Cats, a 4 piece jazz band fronted by Jerry Younce on guitar and pianist Bill Carrothers. The show features musical guests (tbd), authors, and comedic sketches that the entire family can enjoy. Produced by Real People Media, the Red Jacket Jamboree, is distributed by PRX and can be heard on public radio stations throughout the U.S
Two hour-long episodes are recorded per show.
A 15-minute intermission between episodes.
Guests are asked to be in their seats 5-minutes before the start of the show.
Note: This is a live recording. If you are sick, please stay home. Coughing, sneezing and unwanted noise interfere with the recording and you may be asked to leave if sound interferes with our recording. This is probably not the show for young children.
